My father honked the horn when I was youg to but it was when we crossed only our "département" line in France.
My neighbor told me we have visited more than a lot of american people. I'm happy to see there are a lot of children who discovered their country in road trip. My parents used everyone of these strategies on the long road trips we would take on vacation when I was a kid. Well except the DVD (didn't exist). I am pretty old - so I was a little kid in the 1960's and a teen in the 1970's. I remember my sister and I counting "horsecars" (the ford mustang which in 1965 had a little horse on it)and "beetlebugs" ( the Volkswagen Beetle). We also often asked my father to "honk the horn" when we crossed a state line. As we got older we would get excited by the changing landscape. We were from the Midwest and when we drove to the Rocky Mountains, it took a couple days and you would slowly see the faint outline of something(the mountains) on the far horizon - it almost looked like clouds. Note we were coming across the very flat plains. As you got closer and closer the mountains came into view and were very dramatic. Then we would get all excited. Very magical when you are young. Same thing when we drove to Florida. We got excited when we began to see moss hanging from trees because we knew we were in the South.
ToddVToddhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00202156079831053710noreply@blogger.com
